The beautiful things that make me happy this time of year.

My bedside table is full of my Favorite Things... I will never part with the suitcase, I just love the color on it!
Having just moved in I have yet to decide on what I want for a headboard, so for know it is a group of shutters... I am liking how it looks so it just may stay that way for awhile!
I adore vintage playing cards and this one was just right for one of my holiday displays!
The "tree" shot... Not the best photo but I adore it... I always gravitate towards the oddest trees... I find beauty in their imperfections... My husband doesn't agree, but look who won this one, like always! Do you see that great big metal advertising sign in the background? That is my "American Pickers" sign and I love it! I will tell you about that sign some time soon!

This greets my guests in the front entryway.... I just love the old door, great for decorating in every season!
A portion of my ever growing Santa collection in my kitchen windowsill.
I love my lampshade frame with it's lamp base bowl...
So there you have it, a glimpse into my home.So thankful and blessed for all I have. Here's wishing you all a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

What's the rush?

The holiday season is in full swing... Yet I once again have procrastinated and waited to do my holiday shopping.....  Every year I tell myself next year it will be different.... But here I am still searching out the perfect gifts for everyone on my list... Never mind all the wrapping I still will have to do and the planning  of the holiday meal!  It's enough to make a gal tired just thinking of all the work that is still left to do... So with that, I must bid farewell for the evening and get back to my holiday lists...

Time to start a New Chapter

In life that is.....
So for months I have been following, better yet stalking all the great bloggers and thinking to myself it is time to just dive in, no matter what the outcome... I have never been much of a writer but decorating and display have always come natural to me so hopefully my photos will make up for the lack of content my writing will have!

I have been preparing for an upcoming event, hosted at Viva La Cottage... We are having "A Vintage Holiday Market" There will be some great handmade and vintage holiday items to take home for that special someone or to add that special touch to your holiday home. I haven't been able to photograph any items yet so for today I will share with you a few snapshots from last years sale... I regret not shooting the entire displays, just close ups of a few items..  So save these Dates: November 26-28... You don't want to miss it!
